“Not giving a fuck does not mean being indifferent; it means being comfortable with being different.” The # 1 of the Rule of the chapter “Don’t Try” which states the fact about why one must give a Fuck.
The Author of the Book, Mark Manson, emphasizes the fact We always care about something in our life, and that’s what we give a fuck about, and they become our values in life. So as we are the ones who ultimately choose to deal with the things we care about so why can’t we choose something that is meaningful and that makes our life live for better?
Why # 1 of the Subtlety Matters?
The people who are indifferent or who always try to fit into society tend to care about what others think. Also, they are afraid to make meaningful choices, which makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd, as they fear the judgment of others which in fact leads to giving too many fucks in their life.
Manson also states that in life, no matter wherever you go there is always some sort of adversity waiting for you to hit on your face and you cannot change anything about it; The Best way is to choose what kind of adversity shit you are willing to handle and struggle with.
The questions that make a us think about how we need to decide what matter are:
1: What do we give a fuck about?
2: What are we choosing to give a fuck about?
3: How can we not give a fuck about something that does not matter to us in life?
When we present ourselves with this kind of question, we are forced to decide what are the things that are important and what are not! So choosing a VALUES and leading a life with it makes us focus on the things we should care about and give a fuck and on the contrary it also answers the fact why we should not give a fuck about anything that’s not align with our Values.
